HOUSE EXTENSION
House extension in the ‘Lupească’ social housing subdivision, Bucharest. Originally part of a small-scale early 20th-century social housing development, the house was one of 30 modest dwellings designed for a different era. Over time, many of these homes have been adapted—some expanded with attic conversions, others rebuilt with multiple levels. Positioned at the end of the row, our intervention keeps the house closer to its original scale while organically integrating the new attic level. This transformation enhances its presence on the street and aligns it with contemporary living standards, maintaining a dialogue with the evolving character of the neighborhood.
